DALLAS (AP) -- Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin was charged with misdemeanor
possession of drug paraphernalia after Plano police officers searched his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Irvin, told The Associated Press late Sunday that the drug pipe found in his car belonged to a friend of 17 years who left a
Houston rehab center and came to Irvin's house in Carrollton for Thanksgiving. Irvin wouldn't reveal his friend's name.

Irvin said he put the pipe in his car because he didn't want it in his house where his children might find it. He said he planned to drive somewhere the next day, like a grocery trash bin, and throw the pipe away but forgot.

"Then! Wait, stay with me. My son was having a powdered sugar, nose-off, which I usually don't partake in, but I felt the need to today because I missed his last birthday!" Irvin said frantically, "And lastly, my eyes are red because, umm, I tripped and fell on the opposite of eye drops. So. You can see this is just... Hahaahhahaha..." Irvin then ran towards a cliff and leaped off trying desperately to fly.

Michael Irvin, was 39 years old.

Andrew Bynum had an opportunity to give the Lakers the lead last night in a game versus the Chicago Bulls, but his shot was blocked by Tyson Chandler.

"That was just my own stupidity," Bynum said. " I should have either gone up with a left-handed hook or a pump-fake there and took a dribble."

"Also, maybe I should have gone to college." Bynum continued. "Nah, probably the pump fake."

The results are in, and Vinny Del Negro has the least appropriate name in basketball.

Jahidi White called the results "bullshit."

Travis Best was playing basketball somewhere in Serbia and was unavailable to comment.

Hawks forward Josh Childress said. ``We have to go out and play harder. I think that's what's going to get us over the hump.''

Childress will soon find out that neither effort, nor sports cliches, are good substitutes for talented players. But, man, that's a nice afro.
